"Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carry sheaves with them.”
Psalm 126:6 (NIV)
Have you ever shared Jesus with someone and wondered if it made any difference?
Think about how a farmer never gets a harvest by sitting in his barn or rocking on his front porch. If a farmer puts all his hopes in his crops but never goes to the field to sow, his hope dies before it has a chance to grow.
The same is true for you and me. Psalm 126:6 says you must "go out weeping, carrying seed to sow." Notice the word “go”. That word is two-thirds of God, one-third of Gospel, and half of Good! You can't separate going from the God you serve.
Your number one priority isn't coming to church. It's going from the church to sow seed. Every morning when you walk out your front door, you're carrying seed. The manager at your coffee shop needs it. Your coworker needs it. The mom struggling at the park needs it.
Starting today, pray this before you leave home, "God, show me one person who needs Your Word today." Then watch and listen. When you see that opportunity, don't overthink it, just sow. Share one truth or speak one word of encouragement. Plant one seed of hope.
A Christian who won't go is like a ship that won't sail. You were made to move. You were made to sow.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to “go!” Forgive me for staying comfortable instead of seeing the opportunities right in front of me. Give me the courage to sow Your Word everywhere I walk today. Show me who needs hope and help me speak it. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
