God’s Greater Plan

January 14, 2021

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

It can be difficult to accept the fact that the things you have to forgive people for are part of God’s plan, but that’s a truth we must learn to accept. Our lives won’t always be happy and perfect, but God can use even the tough and ugly parts of our story to accomplish His greater plan.

I don’t know what you have gone through in your life or what you are going through right now. I don’t know how unfairly you have been treated or are being treated, how unjust your circumstances have been or are now, what kind of bad hand you have been dealt with or you are being dealt now, but I will tell you what I do know. Whatever else you are thinking or you are hearing, God is saying to you right now, “Everything is going according to plan.”

What you are going through right now may not be good, but what is guaranteed is God will take all of the bad and all of the evil and turn it into good, because that is God’s plan for the life of every one of his children. Please remember this. God’s plan for you is bigger than you and bigger than your plan for you.

Dear Father, I am so grateful that you are a sovereign God. I’m thankful that I can trust that your plan is always the best plan, even when I can’t see it or understand it. Please give me the faith and the grace I need to trust in your plan, and to forgive even when I face the toughest circumstances of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
