Remembered By Love

September 1, 2025

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail."
Lamentations 3:22 (NIV)

Have you ever felt completely forgotten, like you were invisible to everyone around you?

Picture young Jeremiah standing in the smoldering ruins of Jerusalem. The temple lies in rubble. His people are marched away in chains. Everything he loved burns to ash. Yet in this darkest moment, this broken prophet makes an incredible declaration about God's love.

The word Jeremiah uses for "love" is chesed. This Hebrew word is so rich with meaning that no English word captures it fully. It means mercy that pursues you when you're running away. Love that holds on when you let go. Faithfulness that never gives up.

You exist this very moment because of God's chesed. Your heart beats because of His mercy. Your lungs breathe because of His faithfulness. When you feel forgotten, remember that God's goodness and mercy follow you everywhere you go, connected to you like an invisible thread.

You can't escape His love because you can't outrun His mercy. When the world seems to forget your name, God remembers everything about you: your circumstances, your prayers, your needs, your deepest hurts.

Rest today because His chesed means you are never truly alone and never truly forgotten.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that even when I feel invisible and forgotten, Your love never lets me go. Help me rest in the truth that I am held today in Your great mercy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
