“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
Hebrews 1:3 (NIV)
A little boy is born 2,000 years ago, with no formal education, never goes to college, and only teaches for three years. Yet Socrates taught for 40 years, Plato for 50, and Aristotle for 40—a combined 130 years—and haven't had anywhere near the impact on philosophy and thinking like this man.
He never writes a book, yet untold thousands of books are written about Him. He never paints a picture, yet Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci draw pictures of Him. He writes no poetry, but Dante and Milton are inspired to write about Him.
To this day, as of this moment, He's the only human being ever born who is worshipped as God by one out of every three people on this planet.
There can only be one explanation. He was a man, but He wasn't just a man. He was the God-man. And after He provided purification for your sins, "he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven." Jesus is not just "a" king—He's the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
So what will you do with Christmas Jesus? You can't leave Him in a cradle. You can't keep Him on a cross. You can't even keep Him in a grave. The place He belongs is in your heart—not just on Christmas Day, but every day.
When you wake up tomorrow morning, will He still be King of your life, or just a memory from December 25th?
That's the question that makes this Christmas truly merry.
Prayer: Jesus, on this Christmas Day I celebrate more than Your birth. I celebrate Your reign. You're not a baby in a manger anymore. You're seated at the right hand of the Father, King over everything. Today I invite You into my heart, and I commit to making You King not just today but every single day. You alone deserve my worship, my love, and my obedience. Merry Christmas, Lord Jesus. Amen.
