"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV)
Ever sat waiting for a Broadway show to begin?
The set is already built. The props are already placed. Every piece is exactly where the director put it. But none of it makes sense yet, because the spotlight hasn't come on and the story hasn't started.
That word "power" is the Greek word energeia, the word we get "energy" from. It’s not potential energy sitting dormant, but kinetic energy already at work inside you right now.
That means that the heartbreak you can't explain and the prayer that still hasn't been answered aren't signs that God forgot. They're pieces of a set being built for something you haven't seen yet.
So when you're sitting in the waiting, when the stage looks dark and the props don't make sense, reject the temptation to worry. The spotlight is coming. Every piece of what you've carried in the loss, the delay, or what still hasn't resolved, is being positioned to tell a story of God's grace that no one could have written without it.
That means when the diagnosis doesn't change and the relationship stays broken, you don't give up on the Director. You trust that He's still building the set.
Prayer: Father, thank You that you’re always working in teh waiting - even when I don’t understand. Help me trust that every hard piece of my story is being placed on purpose. Let Your power work in me today even when I can't see what You're building. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
