You Will Be Saved

September 5, 2025

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)

Ever struggle to explain how someone becomes a Christian?

Paul makes it surprisingly simple: believe and declare. That's it. No special prayer formula, no hand-raising ceremony, and no paperwork required. You simply believe Jesus is who He says He is and did what He said He would do—paying for your sins on the cross.

But notice Paul mentions both your heart and your mouth. Faith isn't just a private, internal decision. When you truly believe Jesus is Lord, you can't help but tell others. Your words and your life begin declaring what you believe.

Think about it this way: if you discovered a cure for cancer, could you keep quiet about it? When you understand that Jesus offers forgiveness and eternal life, that same urgency compels you to share.

Here's what God promises: when you believe and declare, His Word declares that "you will be saved." Notice the word “will.” God doesn’t say "you might be" saved or "you could be"—you will be. God's guarantee.

That kind of promise begins a new way of life. Becoming a Christian is a simple process, and living it out becomes a daily adventure of commitment and surrender to the Holy Spirit.

With Him as Your Advocate and Guide, every choice, every conversation, and every relationship becomes an opportunity to declare Jesus as Lord—not just with your words, but with your life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for making salvation so simple. I praise You, Lord! Thank you! I receive every good and perfect gift and remember Jesus Christ’s sacrifice that makes it possible for me to be welcome into your family. May my life declare Jesus as Lord in everything I say and do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
