"But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?"
Job 12:7-9 (NIV)
Have you ever felt too small to matter to God?
Stand under the night sky and count the stars if you can. Creation shouts truths about your Creator that words alone can't capture. The complexity of a single cell in your body is more complex than any city's infrastructure. The nearest star sits so far away that traveling at light speed would take years to reach it. Between the atoms making up your hand exists space you can't define, but your hand doesn't fall apart.
Job tells you to ask the animals, consult the earth, and interview the fish. They all know something you sometimes forget: the hand of the Lord sustains everything.
That same hand that spins galaxies knows the number of hairs on your head. The God who paints sunsets in colors you can't name sees your tears in the darkness.
When you feel overwhelmed by difficulty in your life, remember that the God who manages the universe's infinite details is managing yours. When problems seem too big, look at creation's expanse. Nothing is too vast for Him.
Tonight, catch a glimpse of the sunset. Tomorrow morning, watch the sunrise. As light breaks through the horizon, tell God: "You're handling the cosmos. You can handle my today."
Prayer: Lord, Your creation reveals Your character! You are beautiful and infinite! When I feel lost in life's struggle, remind me that Your Hand is spinning galaxies, and holding me secure. Thank You that nothing in my life is too difficult, too messy, or too big for You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
