Leap Into the Light

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”
Hebrews 11:8 (NIV)

What if God asked you to go without telling you where?

In today’s verse, it’s been 400 years of silence…then God speaks. His first words to Abram? "Go...I will show you." Not a detailed roadmap. Just "Go."

Abram is 75, successful, surrounded by family and friends. God asks him to leave everything without knowing the destination, the timeline, or what happens when he arrives. Just a promise: "I will show you."

Notice those four words. God doesn't show you where to go until you take the first step. Hebrews 11:8 says Abraham "obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." That's faith—taking God at His word and trusting He'll keep it.

Did you know that an African Impala can jump 10 feet high? But zookeepers can contain it with a three-foot wall. Why? An impala won't leap before it looks. It stays imprisoned by what it can't see.

You enter into relationship with God through faith, not sight. When God asks you to take that difficult step, you don't need to see the whole staircase.

When you're sitting across the table and you know you need to have that hard conversation, but you can’t see how it ends well, trust that God will give you the words. Then speak the truth you know you need to say.

Prayer: Father, when I can't see the outcome, help me trust Your word and take the next step. Give me faith to leap into Your light. And to trust You to show me where You’re leading. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
