Made By Jesus

 "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."
John 1:3 (NIV)

For a moment, picture the baby in the manger at Bethlehem. He had tiny hands and a fragile frame. He was completely dependent on Mary for everything. Now imagine that those same hands created the universe.

The God who created the world and all of humanity came into the world He created, as a human being. He created man, became a man, and was also the Creator of all men. Hebrews 1:2 says God made the universe "through" His Son. John says it even more directly in today’s verse: "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."

Everything from molecules to men, the planets to people, the moon to the stars has stamped on it "Made by Jesus." He is the founder, builder, and glue of the galaxies. 

It’s not only a children’s song. Jesus really does have the whole world in His hands. The reason we have a cosmos and not chaos is because of Jesus. And He not only created it all, but He also sustains it all. 

Hebrews 1:3 says He's "sustaining all things by his powerful word." If He turned His back on us for one second, the entire universe would collapse. 

Look up at the stars tonight, hold your child's hand, or breathe in the morning air. Remember that Jesus made it all, and He holds it all together. If His Word flung stars into place, His Word can sustain you in your struggles.

When you’re feeling anxious about your health, Christmas finances, or those uncomfortable relationships, stop and let wonder replace worry. 

The Creator who holds galaxies together will not let your world collapse. 

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You created everything I see and sustain everything I need. Help me remember that the hands that formed galaxies also hold my life. I can trust You completely. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen.
